ALOHA ISLAND GOLD – 100% PURE KONA, Medium Roast Ground Coffee, 4 oz or 8 oz. The Taste of Luxury

Published by under Wine Gourmet

Aloha Island Coffee is to coffee aficionados what the Aston Martin is to James Bond; supreme and exclusive!' - Brentwood Magazine

Kona coffee is considered to be the best coffee in the world and coffee aficionados rate Aloha Island as the ultimate, the most luxurious, of all Kona coffee. We select only the top grades from our beautiful Kona plantation and our Master Roaster roasts to just the right depth to create our exclusive Aloha Island Gold coffee. Very smooth and naturally low in acid with never a bitter aftertaste. Rich, with depth of flavor and a full-bodied aroma.

Customer Review: Poor customer service

Sticker on invoice: "We care about your satisfaction with our products and service. If you have any concerns or questions about your shipment, please call us toll free at..."

Who would think that getting coffee could be so difficult?! We had a problem and it had been arranged that the coffee would be exchanged. They sent a Fed Ex label and off it went. After 2 weeks, a call was placed to check status. Emma (Pres) relayed the shipment would go out immediately and apologized for the delay. Thought it was done... A few moments later, Anna calls back and goes into some diatribe with my wife not knowing what coffee is. If the president of the company resolved the issue, why is someone else from the company calling to stir it up?!

Another call back to speak with Emma and she apologized for the actions of Anna. The coffee and a "for your trouble" gesture would be sent along that day. They are located cross town about 10 miles away and most shipment are next day...nothing came.

A week passed and still nothing. Another call. Emma relays that it should have been taken care of and will call me back next day to confirm. Next day came, went...nothing. We are quite disappointed by this company. They got the $$ and we received empty words.

Customer Review: Good, but.................

We bought this coffee based on all the hype (Food & Wine Magazine, "handcrafted" , "Estate" , etc) but as serious coffee drinkers, we didn't feel this was worth the high price (especially when shipping is added). It had a pleasant, full bodied taste, but so do a lot of other, more easily available and less expensive coffees.

Starbucks for example, has enough different varieties of coffee where you'll find one blend very similar if not as good (or better) tasting than the much lauded Kona........just our $0.02

The Wines of Burgundy: Revised Edition

Published by under Wine Books

Ten years after the publication of the highly acclaimed, award-winning Côte D'Or: A Celebration of the Great Wines of Burgundy, the "Bible of Burgundy," Clive Coates now offers this thoroughly revised and updated sequel. This long-awaited work details all the major vintages from 2006 back to 1959 and includes thousands of recent tasting notes of the top wines. All-new chapters on Chablis and Côte Chalonnaise replace the previous volume's domaine profiles. Coates, a Master of Wine who has spent much of the last thirty years in Burgundy, considers it to be the most exciting, complex, and intractable wine region in the world, and the one most likely to yield fine wines of elegance and finesse. This book is an indispensable guide for amateur and professional alike by one of the world's leading wine experts, writing with his habitual expertise, lucidity, and unequaled firsthand knowledge.

Customer Review: A Good Sequel

Clive Coates' previously published "Cote d'Or" is unsurpassed in its comprehensive research on Burgundy's vineyards, vintages, history, and profiles of Burgundy's domaines. He was a much younger man then, active in his profession and in better health, hence the gargantuan effort he poured into that epic volume is impossible to duplicate over a decade later by a man in retirement for several years now and in lesser health. I don't view his just published "The Wines of Burgundy" a "revised edition" as the subtitle states, but rather a sequel. In this sense he has published a fine volume that extends the reach of his first book on Burgundy. Both volumes should be on every Burgundy lover's desk.

Customer Review: Indispensable.....

Burgundy is perhaps the most confusing wine region in the world. This book is THE BIBLE on burgundy. To anyone wanting to understand the differences between each climat or producer, this IS the book to read.

I find it pretty easy to read. Although one warning: This is not a book for the wine beginners. You'd be better off going for "Red and White" as an introduction, then THe World Altas of Wine as an intro to Burgundy (and other regions/countries) first. If you have conquered the burgundy section in the world altas and still yearns for more, this is the book to get.

Windows on the World Complete Wine Course: 2008 Edition (Windows on the World Complete Wine Course)

Published by under Wine Books

Windows on the World Complete Wine Course is simply the bestselling wine book in North America—it’s a classic. The 2007 edition alone has sold over 100,000 copies and reorders continue to pour in. Along with the expanded text that has made last year’s update so successful, the 2008 revision will include a special 16-page supplement on “How to Taste Wine,” taken directly from Kevin’s world-famous class. This new material will include more than 100 wines that Zraly selects for his students to taste, along with the tasting sheet they use for their evaluations. Organized by region, from simple to complex, his list begins with white wines from France, the U.S., and Germany; moves on to the red wines of Burgundy and the Rhône, Bordeaux, the U.S., Italy, Australia, Argentina, and Chile; and concludes with champagnes and ports. By following Kevin’s order, readers will experience the best wines and the wide diversity of taste, style, region, and country. It’s not only a comprehensive and bargain-priced hands-on wine education, but a superb catalog from which to start a wine cellar or find a bottle appropriate to any occasion. In addition, the label for each of the 101 wines is shown, along with commentary on how to read it, suggestions for alternative wines, and specific instructions on how to set up a tasting using Kevin’s techniques. This is the first time Kevin’s actual list has ever been offered in book form and it alone is worth the cover price of Windows on the World Complete Wine Course.
Of course, as always, this unequaled volume retains all the invaluable information, fabulous illustrations, and gorgeous styling of the previous editions—all presented in Zraly’s inimitable, irreverent style. This is the wine guide against which all others are judged.

Customer Review: great beginning wine course

I do not have the 2008 edition (yet), but have the last 3 books. I strongly disagree with the reviewer who thinks that Zraley is full of himself and a "poser". First of all Kevin Zraley is THE wine instructor. Ever hear of a little restaurant called "Windows on the World"?

That said, his last 3 editions are a wonderful introduction to wine. As a restaurant manager, I keep them in our lending library and recommend them to all new servers, to get a handle on the vast world of wine.

These books are well written and easy to understand. They cover a little bit of each region, but do it in an interesting way.

Customer Review: Windows on the World

Well written and thus easy reading. Enriching work for the wine enthusiast. Excellent compilation of more than thirty years of teaching, lecturing and advising experience. A must have for the wine lover.

Maynards Wine Gums Bulk 36 Rolls Total Over 1.5 Kilo Sealed Two Unopened Cases of 18 Rolls Each From Canada Over 3 Pounds Similar to the Experience of Savouring a Fine Wine

Published by under Wine Gourmet

In the world of gummies, wine gums have their own special place. The flavors are unlike other candy. The texture is great. Everything about them is great. This is one of those snacks that for no reason at all I'll just crave wine gums. One important point that should be made is that the black ones are not licorice but in fact berry flavored. This has got to be one of my regular favorites.
Dont be fooled by the name. Wine gums are not chewing gum, but more of a chewy gummi candy. And they dont contain any wine! They come in larger
bags and smaller rolls that you can pick up from the candy aisle and take on the road for a refreshing fruity taste. These candies may not suit those who
dont like wineor parents who dont want their kids to develop a liking for alcohol. They come in flavors like port, sherry, burgundy, champagne and
claret, as well as different shapes including kidney-shaped, crown, and rectangle. Invented by Charles Maynard in 1909, these chews have a thicker
consistency than other gummies, which lets the flavor lastlike a fine wine. The flavor quotient on these candies is outstandingbright and refreshing
all the way down.

Customer Review: Mmmmm...Maynard's.

What is it about some Canadian snacks--the flavor is so much richer! (Although these are technically from Great Britain)
Maynard's winegums fall into that category. Think of Jujubes with an attitude. Rich, winy goodness!

Customer Review: Fantastic

These were fantastic and tided me over until next time I go to the U.K. The best sweets you can get!!

The World Atlas of Wine: Completely Revised and Updated, Sixth Edition (World Atlas of Wine)

Published by under Wine Books

Hailed by critics worldwide as “extraordinary” and “irreplaceable,” there are few volumes that have had as monumental an impact in their field as Hugh Johnson’s The World Atlas of Wine: sales have exceeded four million copies, and it is now published in thirteen languages.
World-renowned authors Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson once again combine their unrivalled talents to enhance this masterpiece of wine knowledge. There are now 48 extra pages, including 17 new color illustrations, 20 new maps, and—for the first time ever—double page spreads and full-page photos in the atlas section for maximum visual impact. New World coverage has been extended for both Australia and South America; some New World regions even have their own entries for the first time, including Rutherford, Oakville, and Stag’s Leap from California; Mendoza (Argentina); Limestone Coast (Australia); Central Otago and Martinborough (New Zealand); and Constantia (South Africa). And Old World coverage has grown too, with the addition of Toro (Spain), the Peleponnese (Greece), and Georgia. It’s a truly incomparable book, and an essential addition to every wine lover’s or professional’s library.

Customer Review: Atlas

This seems to be truly a complete Atlas on wine and locations for
finding anything you might desire in wines.

Customer Review: Absolutely great

This is a must-have book for your home library. What surprised me is the cost, so low for a hardcover, high quality book like this.

Corkscrews Winery pops open a second site (The Grand Rapids Press)

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP -- When Melissa Roedema's then-boyfriend Jason Van Dyke took her last year to Corkscrews Winery, she was skeptical. "As we were driving by I said, 'Oh that's the winery I wanted you to try," Roedema told Van Dyke.
